Bridget Visits the Zoo
The weather has been so nice in the Bay Area recently and we wanted to take advantage of the sunshine, so we decided to make a visit to the Oakland Zoo. Bridget is starting to know and recognize a lot of different animals and we also thought Super Bowl Sunday would be a good day to go since neither Nathan or I are much into crowds. We only made it through about half of the zoo before Bridget started displaying zombie-like symptoms, but what she did see, she liked. It was a great trip and we are sure we'll be making many more trips over to the East Bay to check out all the animals.
As soon as we arrived we realized we had forgotten to bring a hat for Bridget. It was super bright out so we headed to the gift shop before going any further. Bridget was faced with a tough decision. Pink, Green, or Purple? She settled on purple and we went on our way. That unfortunately was the last time she kept the hat on her head.
Bridget pointed out the monkey to us, up high in the tree.
We wandered into the Children's Zoo and discovered a life-size statue of a tortoise. Bridget had a great time "petting" him.
The Children's Zoo also had these cool Lily Pads that we walked across. Bridget took very careful and high-kneed steps from pad to pad.

oh what a great idea, I bet Bridget had a blast. That was such a better way to spend SuperBowl Sunday.
