Fashion-ista

We already know that Bridget loves shoes and bags, but she also loves clothes. She especially loves opening her closet and removing all of her clothes. Lately we have been tying up the handles to her closet so she can't get in. As you can see, that does not stop her.

Bridget managed to unhook her closet door and unload the bins in her closet, all while mom was not looking.

She then managed to spread them out all over her bedroom, and the living room.

Bridget wasted no time trying to get back in after mom put everything back and "re-secured" her closet.

Apple of my Eye

Bridget and I had a great time spending the day together on Monday, MLK day. Unfortunately Nathan had to work so it was just us girls. We started the day with a little breakfast. Bridget was very adamant that she be able to eat her own applesauce. She continually turned her head when I tried to feed her, and she kept reaching for the spoon and the bowl. I love that she is independent, but there was NO WAY I was going to trust her with a bowl of applesauce! But clearly I don't give my daughter enough credit. I finally relented and placed the bowl on her tray. And low and behold...

She could actually do it herself without making a mess!...

She gave herself applause and gave me an "I told you I could do it" look...

And then she continued eating.

Is it too early to teach her how to cook her own meals too?

K-Falls Cutie

On our way back to California we made a detour to visit some family in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Bridget had a great time with Grandma Becky, Aunt Sara, and Cousin Juliette. It was great to see everyone and was also a nice way to break up our long drive home from Portland.

Bridget and Grandma Becky do some coloring.

Bridget and Aunt Sarah did some cuddling.

And Bridget and Juliette got to play. It was a coincidence that they were both wearing brown and pink that day!

Bridget's Posse

We had a great time visiting Nathan's home town (the greater Portland Area) over the holidays. We enjoyed a lot of quality time with Nate's parents (Grandma and Papa) and his sister Polina. It was also great to reconnect with a lot of friends who have started families of their own in the last few years. We unfortunately weren't able to visit with everyone – but here are some great shots we got with some of Bridget's new girlfriends (yes, they were ALL girls). Next time we are up in Portland we hope Bridget will have a chance to meet Jacob, who was just born on Christmas Eve, as well as Eloise, and twins Poppy and Gus.

Our first stop was to visit Alison. She is the daughter of Nathan's childhood friend Paul, and his wife Angie. Ali and Bridget sat down to have tea and chat. [Picture to come]

Next we saw Kate and Jill, who belong to Nathan's childhood friend Rob, and his wife Wendy. Bridget helped Kate and Jill with some serious cooking.

We then visited Sofia, whose parents are Kara's college era friend Joni and her husband Jeremy. Bridget and Sofia had fun trying to break through the gate and sneak up the stairs.

Finally we wrapped up the Portland tour with Kamele, the daughter of Nathan's childhood friend Jason and his wife Lisa. Bridget got Kamele interested in all her toys again (Isn't it funny how they never want them until someone else has them?).

PBR in PDX

Leave it to Nathan's childhood friend Jason to be the first to introduce beer to Bridget. And it was a classy Pabst Blue Ribbon no less. He claimed it was to use as a teething toy, not to actually drink.

But then we realized Bridget was quickly learning how to pull the tab on the top of the can.

This is what happened when we took it away. Thanks Jason.
