Cheers!

Mom was drinking a glass of wine the other night, while Bridget was drinking a bottle (hey, don't judge, we all need a nightcap every now and again). For some reason Mom thought it would be fun to teach Bridget how to "cheers." She loves giving high-fives, and knucks/pounds, so cheers is the next logical thing, right?! Of course she LOVED it and couldn't get enough.

The first time was fun!

Even the 10th time was fun!

But this is what happened when mom decided we had done enough cheers and tried to hold the glass out of Bridget's reach. Who didn't see this coming?

Little Climber

It is no secret that Bridget likes to climb on anything and everything. We caught this sequence on camera two weeks ago (sorry it has taken so long to get them up on the blog!).

Step one, clear the shelf.

Step two, asses the work ahead.

Step three, begin the ascent.

Step four, mission accomplished! All that work left her tired, time for a little rest.

Cupid's Bow

Bridget and Daddy spent the day together on Friday and they made a special trip to Old Navy to pick out a Valentine's Day outfit. Bridget picked out her shirt and pants (seriously) and was very excited to wear them on Saturday. The only problem was when mommy tried to accessorize her outfit with a pretty red bow. As you can see she wanted nothing to do with it.

She reached for the bow almost as soon as it was put in her hair. I barely had enough time to snap this picture.

Once removed, she threw it down in front of her. We're still trying to figure out where she gets her temper ;)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Book Worm

Sorry it's been so long since the last post! Here are a few shots that have been taken over the last 2 weeks. Bridget just loves her books! I think she has most of them memorized at this point. One of the cutest things she does is when we read 5 Little Monkeys. As soon as we get to the part where "Mama calls the doctor," Bridget starts pointing her finger and scolding the monkeys just as the doctor says "no more monkeys jumping on the bed."

This is one of Bridget's "preferred" reading spots. She unloads a lot of books off the shelves, and then flips through them quickly, one at a time. It's even better when the house it quiet and you can hear her "reading" to herself.

Any book with animals in it is a sure hit. She especially loves to point out cats, dogs, and ducks.

This is Bridget's other reading spot.

Bridget Visits the Zoo

The weather has been so nice in the Bay Area recently and we wanted to take advantage of the sunshine, so we decided to make a visit to the Oakland Zoo. Bridget is starting to know and recognize a lot of different animals and we also thought Super Bowl Sunday would be a good day to go since neither Nathan or I are much into crowds. We only made it through about half of the zoo before Bridget started displaying zombie-like symptoms, but what she did see, she liked. It was a great trip and we are sure we'll be making many more trips over to the East Bay to check out all the animals.

As soon as we arrived we realized we had forgotten to bring a hat for Bridget. It was super bright out so we headed to the gift shop before going any further. Bridget was faced with a tough decision. Pink, Green, or Purple? She settled on purple and we went on our way. That unfortunately was the last time she kept the hat on her head.

Bridget pointed out the monkey to us, up high in the tree.

We wandered into the Children's Zoo and discovered a life-size statue of a tortoise. Bridget had a great time "petting" him.

The Children's Zoo also had these cool Lily Pads that we walked across. Bridget took very careful and high-kneed steps from pad to pad.
