Uncle Scott and Aunt Christine

It has been almost a week since we returned from the East Coast, but a very eventful week. We have had a few rounds of the stomach flu, and one minor computer glitch, but the wedding post is finally here!

As mentioned earlier, we travelled out to Northern Virginia to see Bridget's Uncle Scott get married to Bridget's new Aunt Christine. They got married in historic Wakefield Chapel in Annandale, Virginia. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony. The chapel itself was very picturesque, and the image of the bride and groom leaving the chapel with the rest of the wedding party was priceless (isn't my bro handsome in his uniform?).

Here is a picture of two of Bridget's great grandmothers (she actually has THREE!). Sandra Hall is on the left, and Harriett Pistochini is on the right. Sandra is Dee's (Maimeo) mother, and Harriett is Mark's (Grandpa) mom. This picture was taken inside the chapel before the ceremony.

Bridget was well behaved during dinner at the reception. OK, I'm lying, she wasn't, she couldn't wait to run around. But she settled down long enough to have some crackers, cheese, and ice cream. She needed the carbs to give her energy for dancing.

There were quite a few kids in Bridget's age range at the wedding. She especially had fun with Emma, on her left.

We were able to get a good shot of Bridget and her Maimeo in between rounds on the dance floor.

Yes, Bridget has some serious moves. And Yes, in this picture she is in the center of the dance floor surrounded by adults. And in case you are wondering, the song she is dancing to is Beyonce's Single Ladies.

We were ALL tired by the time we left, but never too tired for Kara to get a picture with her ol' dad.

Bridget might well have been the most tired out of everyone. All that socializing, dancing, and showing off sure took its toll. But it was worth it!

CONGRATULATIONS YOU TWO! Now Bridget wants to know when she's getting cousins.

It's Pistochini Time

For those of you who don't know, my (Kara's) brother, Scott Pistochini, is getting married this weekend (to Christine Cwalina). Nathan, Bridget and I took a red-eye from San Francisco to Northern Virginia and arrived Thursday morning. It was a long night to say the least. We spent most of Thursday resting and recuperating. Friday night was the rehearsal dinner and also Bridget's first time with a sitter who was not a family member or friend. It was a great opportunity to catch up with family and have an enjoyable time without having to chase Bridget all over the place (not that that's not enjoyable). It was a great dinner with lots of friends, relatives, and good fun. Tomorrow is the wedding itself and we'll be sure to post pictures of Bridget, but for now here is a rare shot of mom and dad without their hands full.

Child Genius

OK, most of you by now know how annoyed I have always gotten when I hear people talk about how gifted and advanced their child is. Seriously, it is not possible for EVERY child ever born to be advanced for their age. But then I had a child. And now I am the one always talking about how smart my child is. I am now that person. I am the mom that forces others to hear about the amazing feats my daughter unleashes before our eyes. And I don't even care if I am now the one that annoys everyone else! ;)

Let me tell you about Bridget's latest stroke of brilliance. We bought Bridget some new spring clothes – a bunch of mix and match separates from Old Navy. I spread them out across the floor and started counting how many outfits I could assemble using the various separates.

"One, two, ... six, seven, eight.." And then out of nowhere, Bridget shouts across the room, "NINE!"

I am dead serious folks. She didn't chime after two, or even three, she waited until I got to eight and busted in with the last single digit on the list. She is 19 months old! Child Genius!!!
